Pekanbaru, July 25, 2025 — The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Riau, officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Statistics Indonesia (BPS) of Riau Province. This agreement aims to strengthen collaboration in education, research, and the utilization of statistical data for scientific development. This partnership marks a strategic step in fostering collaboration between academia and government institutions, particularly in supporting evidence-based policy and data-driven research.

Through this MoA, both parties agreed to:

  • Develop joint research activities.
  • Utilize BPS statistical data as academic study material.
  • Organize training and seminars on data processing and analysis.
  • Promote internship and field study opportunities for students.

The Dean of FMIPA UNRI emphasized that this collaboration reflects the faculty’s commitment to providing education relevant to workforce needs and technological advancements. “This synergy will open great opportunities for students and lecturers to enhance their data analysis skills, which are crucial competencies in the digital era,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the Head of BPS Riau Province affirmed their readiness to contribute by providing data and technical expertise to support academic research. “We hope this collaboration will not just remain on paper but truly result in works and innovations that benefit society,” he said.

The MoA signing concluded with a group photo session and a brief discussion on initial activities to be implemented in the near future.
