The Computer Science Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Riau, once again held a public lecture featuring industry practitioners from Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR). The event, themed "Bridging Academia and Industry: DevOps in Modern Software Development," was held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the Kampar Theater, Integrated Classroom, University of Riau.
This public lecture featured four speakers from PHR:
Triatmojo Rosewanto (VP Information Technology, PHR);
Elan Kusuma Kurniawan (Senior Manager Information Technology, PHR);
Rizky Hadi (Expert VR, AR, MR);
Bayudita (Expert DevOps);
The discussion and presentation were moderated by Dr. Rahmad Kurniawan, ST., MIT., a lecturer in the Computer Science Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Riau.
Through this activity, students and faculty gained first-hand insight into the application of DevOps and best practices in modern software development in the industrial world. Pertamina Hulu Rokan, one of Indonesia's largest energy companies, shared its experiences related to digital transformation, information technology implementation, and DevOps integration strategies to support company operations.
This event is expected to strengthen the bridge between academia and industry, while also inspiring students to prepare themselves for the challenges of information technology in the digital era.
