On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Riau University held a collaborative discussion with the Center for International Affairs (PUI) of Riau University. This strategic meeting was led by Mrs. Ns. Yulfitriana Amir, Ph.D. as a representative of PUI and attended by Vice Dean III (WD3), the faculty collaboration team and all Heads of Departments in FMIPA.

In the discussion forum, a comprehensive discussion was held regarding the technical aspects of overseas business trips and the implementation of the student mobility program. Mrs. Ns. Yulfitriana Amir, Ph.D. explained the international business trip scheme which includes licensing procedures and classification of types of travel that have been approved by the State Secretariat (Setneg).
The student mobility program introduced by PUI is an international student exchange and internship initiative that provides opportunities for students to gain academic and professional experience abroad. Currently, PUI has allocated a special budget for students who are interested in participating in the program with a departure duration ranging from 1 to 6 months. The destination countries available in the initial stage are limited to the Southeast Asia region, adjusted to the available budget allocation.
This program is a strategic opportunity for students to develop a global perspective and professional competence. FMIPA has the privilege of being the first faculty at the University of Riau to receive direct socialization regarding this program. It is hoped that FMIPA students can take advantage of this valuable opportunity to broaden their knowledge horizons and make real contributions to the development of the institution after returning to Indonesia.
Responding to the presentation from PUI, Mr. Dr. Arisman Adnan, M.Sc. as the Head of the Faculty Cooperation Team conveyed FMIPA's strategic plan for cooperation with various campuses abroad, especially in the Southeast Asia region. The cooperation plan is designed to support the achievement of FMIPA's vision in realizing a faculty that excels in research and technology in the Southeast Asia region by 2035.
